July Haircare and Skincare Review #dryskin #skincare review #4c hair #Nuxe #Cosrx

 Hi lovelies,

It's been a minute since I posted another products review, so here it is! Here are my honest thoughts on the following haircare and skincare products.

*FYI or so it's easier for you to get an idea of what I'm working with, I have always had very thick 4c untexturised or non-permed hair. I use Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation and Concealer in 6N (Neutral), but I previously used the Lancome in Muscade (in the original formulation), I have always had very dry skin that is potentially sensitive and eczema prone.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Florale Multi-Purpose Dry Oil (100ml, £33.00 Marks and Spencer)

I had been on the body mist / spray bandwagon for a loong time, until I noticed that the scent never really lasted more than 15 minutes for me. I'd heard that fragranced oils had greater longevity. Popped into M&S...tested it out...loved the fragrance...still love the fragrance. It's gorgeous with ingredients of 97% natural origin which is a huuge bonus for me. I actually bought it on sale. Would I repurchase for the price? I have to say yes I will, I will be repurchasing. It doesn't really last as long as I would want it to - an hour or two tops. But I love that added layer of fragrance on my skin and it really does add a level of something to my daily routine that other products don't achieve. I lovee the smell. I'm not a body mist, scented body wash or scented body lotion kinda gal so Nuxe works for me.

I want to address the next two products together...

Camille Rose Mint Condition Braid and Scalp Spray (£8.49) & Aunt Jackie's Kids E-Blast Vitamin E & Flaxseed Nourishing Scalp Remedy (£7.09)

I did not see any positive or negative changes with using these two products. Yes, I know 'kids' E-blast is targeted at kids, but I thought meh, worth a shot since other hair oils including Aunt Jackie hair oils, have done practically nothing for retention, growth or moisture in my 4c hair. I didn't buy the products with any expectations - good or bad. I've always been a fan of Camille Rose. My hair loves Camille Rose products - the conditioners and the gel cream leave my hair feeling hydrated and 'fed,' especially when coupled with my Amazon heat cap. But would I repurchase? Nopeee. Neither did enough for my hair to justify spending close to £20 on another two bottles.

Cosrx Propolis Light Ampoule (£12.25, Yes Style)

There's something about seeing propolis, aloe vera, shea butter and/or honey in a self-care product that makes me want to buy it. I don't know what it is. I have always had extremely dry skin so reviews about 'tackiness,' 'stickiness' or heaviness have never put me off buying a skincare product. As long as it does the job. In fact, it seeing these buzzwords can get me more invested. My skin neeeds the moisture. I had initially liked the propolis toner by Cosrx and was looking for a serum-y toner-y essence-y replacement since I was already using the Ren Daily Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic at night and the Purito Green Toner (which I am really NOT a fan of at the moment). I didn't need another one. I saw this Ampoule and thought - this is what I need. This is not what I needed. In fact, I may even be reacting to it slightly. I would not repurchase this again, even if it were discounted to £2. It just didn't do anything. It is a little tacky, but it just didn't give me the level of hydration I needed.

Nivea Micellar Water Waterproof Expert Amino Acid Complex (£3.74, Superdrug)

No, just...no...It might work really well for others, but I noticed it took several soaked swipes to get all the makeup off my eyes (and I rarely, if ever, use anything more than mascara and eyeliner around my eyes). My skin also found it slightly drying, which is not unusual in my own experience of using micellar water on my face. I have been using (and have almost finished a bottle of) CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser with Squalane for Normal to Very Dry Skin which has been suuper effective for double cleanser. I always follow with either the CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser with Squalane for Normal to Very Dry Skin 236ml or the Cetaphil alternative. Next time, I'd stick with something more oil-based. It's an affordable eye make-up remover, just not the right one.

Let me know what your thoughts are :)

Have you used any of these products before? What did you think of them?
